As I was posting the title to this article, I had to look up the meaning of the word "oxymoron"—not because I didn't know what it meant, but because I wanted to make sure it applied to the act of putting the words "tofu" and "chocolate mousse" together.
I went directly to dictionary.com to look up the term and came back with this definition: "A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a 'deafening silence' and a 'mournful optimist.'"
Great, so now i have to look up "incongruous"—"Lacking in harmony; incompatible." Yeah, I guess that fits.
But I promise, this recipe is DELICIOUS and you won't taste the tofu and in the end, you'll be saying "This Tofu Chocolate Mousse is TOTALLY GRUOUS!" uh, or something like that.
I package Silken Soft Tofu
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
Sweetened whipped cream
Put tofu in blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Slowly add melted chocolate and pour into bowls. Top with whipped cream.
Serves 4
The nice thing about tofu is it takes on the flavour of whatever it is with. By itself it isn't so tasty, but it is great in desserts and stir-fry and casserole, etc. It really adds something to things.
Sounds yummy :) We will have to try it!
