Ok, I admit it. I really should be fired from writing these introductions. Susan, I apologize. I even knew this was posting today and told myself all day yesterday that I was going to get it written and then fell asleep on the couch last night thinking, "I'll just rest my eyes for a moment and then get up and write Susan's intro." In my entire life of laying down on the couch and resting my eyes for a moment, I have never, moments later, hopped up and done what I needed to do. You'd think I'd remember that. I probably need some kind of shock therapy.
Susan informs me that her mother and I share the same name. That makes four Jerilyns (or some variation on the spelling) that I know of. People always say to me, "What a pretty name! I've never heard it before!" And I always reply, "Really? I know three!" which, now that I think about it, probably comes across as entirely too snarky, really.
The first Jerilyn I know of was my dad's high school girlfriend. She has a child with the same name as my dad, too. And yes, my mom is ok with it.
The second Jerilyn I know of is married to a cousin of my dad. This is one of the Jerilyns I know that I actually see and speak to on a regular basis. When she calls, or I call, we say, "Hello, Jerilyn? This is Jerilyn." and then we giggle. She's also the prettiest of the Jerilyns I know (apologies to the other Jerilyns).
The third Jerilyn I know lived near me in student housing when my husband was in school. She was the manager and thank goodness she only lived a few doors down because I was constantly needing a key to be let in. Oh, and she went by the nickname "Jerry" which UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is anyone allowed to call me.
And now there's a fourth Jerilyn and her daughter, Susan, has a profile on the CGB. (See, I was going come full circle eventually. Not everything has to be about me!)
